“Times were tough and I thought I was going to be evicted. WWCM helped me stay in  my apartment. Everyone was very compassionate about my circumstance.”

“If it wasn’t for WWCM I don’t know how we would make it. We use the food pantry every month.”

"We are so grateful for WWCM for helping pay our rent. We were treated with kindness, and everyone made us feel so comfortable and hopeful. Thank you so much.”

"Every time I came for food you treated me very respectfully, like I was important.  That felt very good. Thank you.”

I hope this message finds you in good spirits! As we approach the close of another impactful year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible strides we’ve made together through the Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative, all made possible by your unwavering support.

This year, we have provided crucial services such as: rent assistance, utility support, and food aid, helping to bring stability and hope to families. Western Wake Crisis Ministry (WWCM) served 14,579 individuals from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. Every day, we witness firsthand the difference your contributions make in the lives of those who are struggling.

One story that truly exemplifies the spirit of this initiative is that of a local mother who, facing insurmountable challenges, found herself living in her car with her two young children. When she reached out to WWCM, your generous support allowed us to step in and cover a portion of the security deposit for a new apartment. Thanks to your compassion, that family now has a safe and stable place to call home, where her children can finally sleep in their own beds. Today, they radiate hope and gratitude, thanks to people like you.

However, there are still many families in our community who need our help. The average rent in our area is $1800/month, and currently, WWCM has a $600 cap on our financial assistance. As we look towards increasing the amount we are able to help and to serve the increased needs of our community we have set a year-end fundraising goal of $150,000. This critical funding will enable us to expand our resources and reach even more families who are in dire need of assistance. Imagine the impact we can achieve together: more secure homes, restored dignity, and renewed hope for those facing adversity.

Every gift, regardless of its size, plays a vital role in helping us meet this goal. The more we raise, the more families we can support in their time of need. Your generosity has the power to change lives and build a stronger, more compassionate community for everyone.

I invite you to join us in this mission by making a year-end gift to Western Wake Crisis Ministry. You may donate via the enclosed envelope or online at www.wwcm.org. Together, we can reach our goal and continue making a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors.

With heartfelt gratitude and hope for the future,

Dr. Atoya Hodges
