The WWCM food pantry model promotes dignity, offers supportive social interaction, and reduces food waste. Visitors to our food pantry are offered the opportunity to “shop” for the items they need, free of charge. Volunteers assist our visitors as they check in and then make their choices in our pantry.
Our food pantry is open to Apex, New Hill, and Friendship residents, up to once every 30 days and is stocked by donations from individuals and organizations within our community.
We are able to provide fresh foods in addition to basic staples, in part due to the generous contributions of the Simple Gifts Community Garden in Apex, which donates fresh produce to our food pantry.
Visitors requesting assistance are seen on a “first come, first serve” basis from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Please bring your valid government-issued photo ID and your current utility bill (Duke Energy or Town of Apex) at each visit to prove current residency. Please call us at 919-362-0657, if you have questions.
We now have evening hours for the food pantry every 2nd and 4th Thursday evening, from 6:30pm-8pm!
