It is our vision to have a healthy, hunger-free, housing-stable community.
The coronavirus has threatened this with an unprecedented health and economic crisis.
The Family Recovery Fund will help families in the Western and Southwestern region of Wake County (Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Willow Springs and surrounding rural areas) stabilize after the devastating economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The COVD-19 pandemic continues to challenge many of our families with food insecurity, financial hardship, and access to essential resources. Our Town Council is passionate about providing hope and relief to our community. We are proud to support WWCM with a $20,000 award to their Family Recovery Fund. This will allow more families to be served. There is nothing we can’t accomplish when we work together.

Jacques Gilbert, Mayor of Apex

We will work with the county and other partner agencies to ensure that we are coordinating support and strategically deploy these funds to help families recover and maintain stability going forward. The Family Recovery Fund will allow us to broaden our scope of assistance beyond just rental and utility assistance.

We have already raised $50,000 from local municipalities, corporate & private donors. We are hoping to raise a total of $150,000+.

Will you join us in supporting our neighbors and keeping our community strong?

WWCM will be closed Monday, January 20th, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Due to the inclement weather event, Dorcas and WWCM in-person/onsite operations will remain closed through Thursday, February 20.
This includes the Thrift Shop and donation drop-off, and the Community Support Center, Workforce Development Center and Dorcas Pantry in Cary, and the WWCM Office and Pantry in Apex.
Staff members at both locations will work remotely as possible and take calls and appointments virtually.
All volunteer shifts at both locations are cancelled for the day.
The decision to remain closed is based on current forecasts for frozen precipitation to continue through the evening and the likelihood of light precipitation tomorrow morning. With temperatures below freezing and heavy cloud cover on Thursday, melting will likely not start until Friday. The safety and well-being of our staff and volunteers is our number one priority.
Dorcas/WWCM Operations are expected to return to regular schedule on Friday, February 21, unless we communicate otherwise.
