SNAP (Food Stamp) Program – Information & Sign-up

A representative from the North Carolina Food Bank will be on site all day, 11am – 2pm, at WWCM to answer any questions about the SNAP (food stamp) Benefits Program. This representative will also be on hand to help eligible individuals sign-up for the program, or assist current program participants who may qualify for increased benefits.

Haunted Garage for Halloween

Come out for fun and fright at this local Haunted Garage for Halloween benefiting WWCM! Wearing costumes is optional, candy will be provided, and please bring canned goods as a donation, if possible. Last year 183 pounds of food were collected!

A representative from NC Food Bank will demonstrate how to cook a delicious and healthy snack.

This month’s health presentation is on the topic of Diabetes. Type II diabetes has become a global pandemic affecting more than 380 million people worldwide. During this presentation, participants will learn about diabetes self-management, including meeting their A1Cs, cholesterol and blood pressure goals.

A representative from the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) will demonstrate how to cook a delicious and healthy snack.

This month’s health presentation is on the topic holiday preparation and stress. Many of us get stressed out during the holiday season. This presentation will teach us how to plan ahead, remain physically active, avoid over eating and drinking, and more.
