This month’s health presentation is on the topic of mental illness. You probably have heard about comfort foods — chicken noodle soup anyone? But, do you know how they impact nutrition and mood? Come learn about this and other interesting facts on keeping up your spirits and maintaining a healthy mental state.

With a suggested donation of $10 you will receive one handmade ceramic bowl. All donations will benefit the food pantry of Western Wake Crisis Ministries.

Come out and enjoy live music! Dinner and dessert can be purchased through two local food trucks.

SNAP (Food Stamp) Program – Information & Sign-up

SNAP (Food Stamp) Program – Information & Sign-up

A representative from the North Carolina Food Bank will be on site all day, 11am – 2pm, at WWCM to answer any questions about the SNAP (food stamp) Benefits Program. This representative will also be on hand to help eligible individuals sign-up for the program, or assist current program participants who may qualify for increased benefits.

This month’s health presentation is on the topic of Diabetes. Type II diabetes has become a global pandemic affecting more than 380 million people worldwide. During this presentation, participants will learn about diabetes self-management, including meeting their A1Cs, cholesterol and blood pressure goals.

A representative from the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) will demonstrate how to cook a delicious and healthy snack.

This month’s health presentation is on the topic holiday preparation and stress. Many of us get stressed out during the holiday season. This presentation will teach us how to plan ahead, remain physically active, avoid over eating and drinking, and more.
